Freedom Church is a Jesus-centered, Spirit-led community with a heart for reaching people and building the local church. While some may refer to us as non-denominational, we believe it’s helpful to explain how we’re uniquely connected. We deeply value our Southern Baptist roots, and at the same time, we embrace broader partnerships that reflect who we are today.
Freedom Church has deep roots in the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC)—a heritage we deeply value and continue to honor. We joyfully affirm the Baptist Faith & Message and remain in active cooperation with the SBC because we believe in its mission and legacy. Our partnership reflects our desire to stay connected to a larger movement committed to evangelism, sound doctrine, and global missions. We also contribute financially to SBC efforts because we believe in supporting what we are part of.
In addition, we are part of Ministers Fellowship International (MFI)—a Spirit-filled, relational network of pastors and churches that provides spiritual encouragement, leadership support, and accountability. MFI strengthens our leaders, helps us walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, and keeps us connected to a broader church family. We also support MFI financially, recognizing the value of both relationship and responsibility.
So while Freedom Church is not exclusively tied to a single denomination, we are joyfully aligned with the Southern Baptist Convention, fully affirming the Baptist Faith & Message and remaining in active cooperation. At the same time, we are strengthened through our partnership with Ministers Fellowship International, a Spirit-filled network that equips and encourages church leaders.
These relationships reflect the heart of Freedom Church: grounded in the truth of God’s Word, led by the power of the Holy Spirit, and united in our mission to reach people with the life-changing hope of Jesus.
